COVID-19 Update
Precision Home Medical Equipment is sensitive to our customers and community partners growing concerns about the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and have implemented measures aimed at minimizing the health risks for employees and customers and ensuring a safe working environment. We will continue to monitor the situation and update you when more information is available.
As our goal is to continue to help our clients with their home healthcare needs during this time, we have escalated our precautionary measures to ensure health and safety within our location, our vehicles and in advance of entering the homes of our clients including private, Long-Term Care Homes and Retirement Homes.
We have implemented the following procedures and will continue to assess the level of risk associated with COVID-19 and make sure the appropriate procedures have been implemented and explained to customers and employees.
Store Hours: We are open our regular business hours from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday to Friday. We are are available evenings and Saturdays by appointment.
Pre-Screening: We are asking all contacts, clients and community professionals if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms including dry cough, fever, or sore throat, shortness of breath. Customers entering our store by appointment are required to complete our contract tracing form and complete our pre-screening survey.
Service and Repairs: We are continuing to provide service and repairs with in our location. Repairs requested in-home will be subject to the pre-screening results and left to the discretion of the service technician to complete.
Deliveries and Store Pickups: Our door is locked to ensure our staff and customers are protected. We are allowing customers to enter our store with a scheduled appointment who are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms. We are limiting the number of customers in the store. We are offering curbside pickup of required items. Please contact the store at 519-657-1032 to speak with one of our staff or leave us a voicemail and we will contact you to arrange pickup of product. We are providing contactless delivery without accessing the home. Accepted payment methods are credit card, debit card, cheque or eTransfer.
Self-Screening and Disclosure: All employees who are experiencing flu like symptoms (dry cough, fever, shortness of breath) have been asked to stay home to ensure safety of fellow employees. Employees who are experiencing a combination of fever and respiratory symptoms are also advised to contact their local health authority to receive screening via phone and disclose to Precision Home Medical Equipment whether that have been advised to receive further testing or have tested positive for COVID-19.
Hand Washing Guidelines: As proper hand-washing techniques are the first line of defense against the spread of respiratory illness, Precision Home Medical Equipment employees have been reminded of such techniques (e.g. wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds). Should access to soap and water not be immediately available, our employees have been advised to clean hands with a 70-90% alcohol based hand sanitizer.
Equipment Cleaning: Additional supplies for outbreak control have been sourced to ensure that equipment suspected to be contaminated is returned to our facility is contained and labeled accordingly to the sanitization processes that are required.
